Power Control System
Project
To assist in the creation of an offshore windfarm, our client asked us to manufacture a power control system container to control the power to the legs of each turbine as it is set into the sea bed.
Deliverables (Technical/ Engineering)
These small 8’ units need to hold a generator, a hydraulic power unit, a motor control centre and a wireless control unit, so every inch of space needs to earn its keep. Designed to hold all of this equipment, with bolt on removeable side panels and doors, a number of mechanical louvres to control air flow and accommodate solar panels on the roof, all to a strict offshore regulations.
Results
A small container that packs a massive punch. Each of these containers will assist in supporting each wind turbine whilst it sets offshore, carrying so much equipment and allowing operators to monitor the information wirelessly.
